Integrating Human Rights and Gender Equality in Evaluation – Towards UNEG Guidance (+)
Topic: Women & Gender Tool: Monitoring and Evaluation Resource Type: Guidance note Author: UN Evaluations Group Year: 2011 Sources: UN
The United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG) brings together all the evaluation offices of the UN. This UNEG guidance document provides step by step guidance on how to integrate human rights and gender equality dimensions throughout an evaluation process. The Handbook is the result of the UNEG’s efforts to make available a practical tool for evaluators, evaluation managers, and programme managers both within and outside the UN system. This Handbook integrates guidance on the two concepts of “human rights” and “gender equality” to take advantage of the synergies and overlap between these mutually reinforcing concepts, including the understanding that gender equality is both a human right, but also a dimension of development in its own
right.
